Car
If you are traveling by car, start by entering the address 'Fjogstadveien 167, 4329 Sandnes' into your GPS or mapping app. From Stavanger city center, take the E39 highway towards Sandnes. After approximately 12 kilometers, take the exit toward Sandnes/Sandnes Senter. Continue straight onto Sandnesveien. Follow the road for about 3 kilometers, then turn left onto Fjogstadveien. You will find parking available near the hiking trailhead. There may be a small fee for parking, so be sure to have some coins or a card ready.
Public Transportation
To reach Dalsnuten by public transport, start from Stavanger Sentrum. Take bus number 15 towards Sandnes. The bus will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Sandnes sentrum'. From there, transfer to bus number 29 towards Bydel Bynuten/Fjogstad. This bus will take you close to the trailhead. Disembark at the 'Fjogstadveien' stop. Walk approximately 10 minutes along Fjogstadveien, following the signs to the hiking area. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for times and frequency. A single bus ticket typically costs around 40 NOK.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Stavanger and bike to Dalsnuten. Head out of Stavanger on the bike path towards Sandnes, following the E39 route. The distance is about 12 kilometers, and once you reach Sandnes, you can follow the same route as cars by taking Fjogstadveien. There are bike racks available near the hiking trailhead for parking your bike. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.
