If you are driving from Stavanger, take the E39 highway heading south towards Haugesund. Continue on E39 for approximately 75 kilometers until you reach Haugesund. Once in Haugesund, follow signs for the city center. As you approach the center, take a left onto Haraldsgata, then turn right onto Løkkeveien. Follow this road until it becomes Karmøyvegen. Continue on Karmøyvegen until you see signs for Hagland fortress. The fortress is located at 5514 Haugesund. There is free parking available nearby.

To reach Hagland fortress using public transportation, first, take a bus from Stavanger to Haugesund. The bus service, operated by Kolumbus, departs regularly from Stavanger's bus station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Haugesund bus station, transfer to local bus line 202 or 203, which will take you closer to the fortress. Get off at the stop 'Karmøyvegen/Hagland', and from there, it's a short walk to the fortress. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary, and a ticket for the bus will typically cost around 100 NOK.
