Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Stavanger, the largest city in Rogaland. Take the E39 highway south towards Sandnes. Continue on E39 for approximately 25 km until you reach the junction with Rv13. Follow the signs to Forsand and exit onto Rv13. Drive along Rv13 for about 30 km, enjoying the scenic views of the fjord. Once in Forsand, look for signs directing you to Hengjanefossen waterfall, which is located along R13(old) 1. There is a parking area near the waterfall where you can safely leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
To reach Hengjanefossen waterfall using public transportation, take a bus from Stavanger to Forsand. The bus departs from the Stavanger bus station and operates several times a day. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Forsand, you can either walk or take a taxi to reach Hengjanefossen waterfall, which is about 5 km from the bus stop. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may vary seasonally. Note that there may be a small fee for the bus ride, typically around 100 NOK one way.
Walking
If you're already in Forsand and prefer to walk to Hengjanefossen, start from the center of Forsand village. Head towards R13(old) 1 and follow the signs for the waterfall. The walk is approximately 5 km and takes about 1 hour. The route offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, so take your time to enjoy the scenery.
