Car
If you are driving from Stavanger, take E39 towards Sandnes and then follow the signs for Fv44 towards Haugesund. After about 30 km, look for signs directing you to Fv551. Continue on Fv551 for approximately 20 km, passing through the scenic coastal area. Once you reach Kvitsøy, follow the signs to Kvitsøy Lighthouse, located at Fv551 23, 4180 Kvitsøy. Parking is available near the lighthouse.
Public Transportation
Start your journey by taking a bus from Stavanger to Tau, which runs frequently throughout the day. After arriving in Tau, transfer to a ferry that will take you to Kvitsøy. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of the fjords and takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Kvitsøy, follow the local signs to reach Kvitsøy Lighthouse at Fv551 23. Be sure to check the ferry schedule ahead of time, as the frequency can vary, and tickets must be purchased before boarding.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, you can bike to the ferry terminal in Tau. The ride from Stavanger to Tau is approximately 40 km, following scenic routes along the coast. Upon reaching Tau, take the ferry to Kvitsøy. Once you disembark, the lighthouse is a short ride away. Make sure to wear appropriate cycling gear and check the weather conditions before you set off.
