    If you are traveling by car, start from Stavanger, which is about 1.5 hours away. Take the E39 highway towards Sandnes and then follow the signs for Route 13 towards Lysebotn. After approximately 36 km, turn left onto the road to Preikestolen. There is a parking area at the trailhead (Preikestolen Parking), which costs around 200 NOK for a day. Make sure to arrive early, especially during peak seasons, as the parking lot can fill up quickly.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Stavanger to the town of Tau. The bus ride takes about 50 minutes. Once in Tau, transfer to a ferry that goes to the Preikestolen ferry terminal. The ferry ride is approximately 30 minutes. From the ferry terminal, it's a scenic 1.5 km walk to the Preikestolen trailhead. Note that the ferry costs around 100 NOK per adult each way. Check the schedules in advance, especially during off-peak seasons, as they may vary.
