Ferry
From Stavanger, head to the Stavanger Ferry Terminal, located at Strandkaien, 4005 Stavanger. You can walk there from the city center; it's about a 10-minute walk. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Tau. The ferry ride takes approximately 40 minutes and offers beautiful views of the fjord. After arriving at Tau, follow the signs to the bus station located just outside the ferry terminal.
Bus
At the Tau bus station, catch the bus that goes to Songesand. The bus ride is about 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as there may be limited services. The bus will drop you off close to the starting point of the Pulpit Rock hike. Look for signs indicating the trailhead.
Hiking
Once you are at the trailhead, follow the well-marked path to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). The hike is approximately 3.8 kilometers (2.4 miles) one way and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. The trail is steep in some areas, so wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water. Enjoy the stunning views along the way, and take your time to appreciate the beautiful scenery.
