Car
If you're driving, make your way to Gudvangen, located in the heart of Western Norway. From Bergen, take the E16 highway heading northeast. This scenic route takes you through breathtaking mountains and fjords. Approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes later, you'll arrive at Gudvangen. Once in Gudvangen, look for signs directing you to Nærøydalen 15. The entrance to Viking Valley is clearly marked, and there is parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, you can take a bus from Bergen to Gudvangen. Visit the Bergen bus terminal and look for buses operated by Nor-Way Bussekspress. The journey will take around 3 hours. Once you arrive in Gudvangen, you can either walk to Viking Valley (approximately 20 minutes) or take a local taxi, which should cost around 150 NOK. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as they may vary depending on the season.
Walking
If you choose to walk from Gudvangen to Viking Valley, head east along the main road (Nærøydalen) for about 1.5 kilometers. The path is relatively easy to follow, and you will encounter beautiful views of the surrounding nature. It should take approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the entrance of Viking Valley, where you can immerse yourself in Viking history.
Taxi
For a more direct route from Gudvangen, consider taking a taxi. Taxis are readily available in the area, and the ride to Viking Valley should take about 5 minutes. Expect to pay around 100-150 NOK for this short trip. This option is ideal if you have heavy luggage or would like to save time.
