Getting There

  • Public Transit

    If you're near downtown Akron, start at the Akron Civic Theatre bus stop. Catch the METRO RTA's Route 1 bus towards 'Cuyahoga Falls'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop at 'Edgewood Ave & W Market St'. From there, walk south on Edgewood Avenue for approximately 0.5 miles. The Akron Zoo will be on your left at 500 Edgewood Ave.

    If you are staying in West Akron, simply walk to Edgewood Avenue. Head south until you reach the Akron Zoo at 500 Edgewood Ave. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point.

  • Bicycle

    For those with access to a bicycle, you can cycle along the Towpath Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and continue to Edgewood Avenue, then turn right. The zoo will be a short ride down the road on your left.
