Getting There

• Public Transit - Bus

  From downtown Dayton, head to the nearest bus stop and take the RTA Route 8 bus towards Wright-Patterson AFB. You can catch the bus at the Courthouse Square or any nearby stop. Ride the bus for about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the bus stop closest to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Once you disembark, head towards the main entrance of the base, and follow the signs for 'Huffman Prairie Flying Field'. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop to the field.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental service in downtown Dayton. Start by heading east on Third Street, then take a left on Wayne Avenue and follow it until you reach the intersection with Airway Road. Continue on Airway Road, which will lead you to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There are bike paths that will guide you to the entrance of the base. Once inside, follow the signs to Huffman Prairie Flying Field, which is approximately a 3-mile ride from the base entrance.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start from downtown Dayton. Walk east on East Third Street towards the intersection with Wayne Avenue. From there, take Wayne Avenue until you reach Airway Road. Continue on Airway Road until you reach the entrance of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After passing through security, follow the directional signs to Huffman Prairie Flying Field, which is about a 2-mile walk from the base entrance.

  You can also use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride to 'Huffman Prairie Flying Field' and provide the address: Pylon Rd, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433. The driver will navigate you directly to the field, and the trip should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
