Getting There

  • Public Transit

    If you are starting your journey from downtown Youngstown, take the WRTA (Western Reserve Transit Authority) bus route 1. Board the bus at the Federal Station located at 100 W. Federal St. and head towards the Eastwood Mall. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Market St. and Old Furnace Rd. This journey typically takes about 30 minutes. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach Ford Nature Center. Head southwest on Old Furnace Rd. for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the center on your right.

  • Biking

    For those who prefer to bike, start from downtown Youngstown and head south on Market St. Follow Market St. until you reach Old Furnace Rd. Turn left on Old Furnace Rd. and continue for about 1.5 miles. Ford Nature Center will be on your left. This route is approximately 2 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your biking speed.

    If you are walking from the Youngstown State University area, head south on Wick Ave. until you reach the intersection with Mahoning Ave. Turn left and continue walking for about 0.7 miles. At the next intersection, turn right onto Market St. Continue walking south for about 1 mile until you reach Old Furnace Rd. Turn left and walk another 0.5 miles to Ford Nature Center, which will be located on your right.
