Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the city center of Lawton, OK. Head west on SW 2nd St toward SW Washington Ave. Continue straight onto US-62 W. After approximately 2 miles, take the exit toward SH-49 S. Merge onto US-62 W and then take the ramp to SH-49 S. After about 10 miles, merge onto SH-49 S. Continue for about 8 miles until you reach the turnoff for Signal Mountain Rd. Turn left onto Signal Mountain Rd, and follow it for about 3 miles until you reach Blockhouse Signal Mountain.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking the local bus service from Lawton to the nearest bus stop heading towards Fort Sill. Once you arrive at the Fort Sill area, you will need to arrange for a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, as public transport does not go directly to Signal Mountain Rd. The rideshare will take you approximately 15 minutes to reach Blockhouse Signal Mountain. Be prepared to pay for the rideshare based on the distance.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can start in downtown Lawton and head west on Lee Blvd. After about 3 miles, turn onto US-62 W. Follow this road for around 5 miles, then turn onto SH-49 S. Continue cycling for about 8 miles, then take the left onto Signal Mountain Rd. It will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your cycling speed and stops. Remember to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.

• Walking

  Walking to Blockhouse Signal Mountain is not recommended due to the distance from Lawton. However, if you are determined and starting from a nearby area, head towards Signal Mountain Rd. From downtown Lawton, it’s approximately a 10-mile walk, which could take 3-4 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and check the weather conditions before embarking on your journey.
