Getting There

  • Bicycle

    If you're in central Norman, start at the corner of Main Street and University Blvd. Head east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with 24th Avenue NW. Turn south onto 24th Avenue NW and continue for about 1.5 miles. You will cross over the railroad tracks and continue straight until you reach Alameda Drive. Turn east (left) on Alameda Drive and follow it for about 2 miles until you arrive at Lake Thunderbird State Park, which will be on your left.

  • Public Transit

    Start at the Norman Central Bus Station located at 200 E Main St. Take the Cleveland Area Rapid Transit (CART) bus route 3 towards the 'Lindsey & 12th' stop. Get off at the Stop at '12th & Alameda.' From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile east along Alameda Drive to reach Lake Thunderbird State Park, which will be on your right.

  • Walking

    If you're near the University of Oklahoma, you can walk to Lake Thunderbird State Park. Start at the South Oval of the university and head east on Brooks Street. Continue straight until you reach 12th Avenue SE. Turn south (right) and walk until you reach Alameda Drive. Turn east (left) on Alameda Drive, and walk straight for about 2 miles. Lake Thunderbird State Park will be on your left side.
