Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Muscat, take the Batinah Highway (Route 1) heading towards Rustaq. After approximately 100 km, take the exit towards Nizwa (Route 23). Continue on Route 23 for about 50 km until you reach the town of Saiq. Look for signs for Jebel Al Akhdar, and follow the Unnamed Road (4JC8+X49) leading up the mountain. Note that the road can be steep and winding, so drive cautiously.

    To reach Jebel Al Akhdar using public transport, take a bus from Muscat to Nizwa, which operates regularly throughout the day. The bus ride takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Nizwa, you can either hire a taxi or a local minibus to Saiq. The taxi fare to Saiq should be around 20 OMR.
