Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey by heading northwest on Route 1 (Sultan Qaboos Street) from the center of Al Hajar Ash Sharqi. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 30 kilometers, passing through a few towns until you reach Muscat. Once in Muscat, follow the signs for Mutrah. Turn onto Al Bahri Road, and after about 2 kilometers, you will see Mutrah Fort on your left. There is parking available nearby, but keep in mind that it may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Al Hajar Ash Sharqi to Muscat's central bus station. The bus fare typically costs around 1-2 Omani Rials. Upon arrival at the bus station, you can transfer to a local taxi or use another bus that goes to Mutrah. Inform the driver to drop you off at Al Bahri Road. From there, it's a short walk to Mutrah Fort, which should take about 10 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Al Hajar Ash Sharqi. The taxi ride to Mutrah Fort will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxi fares may range from 10 to 15 Omani Rials. Ensure you agree on a fare before starting your journey or use a rideshare app if available.
