Car
From Jebel Shams, head southeast on the main road (Jebel Shams Road) towards Saiq. Follow the signs for Saiq and continue for approximately 45-60 minutes. The road is well-marked, and you will pass through scenic mountain landscapes. Upon reaching Saiq, look for signs directing you to Jabal Akhdar. You may need to pay a small entrance fee at the checkpoint before proceeding to the viewpoint area.
Taxi
If you prefer not to drive, you can hire a local taxi from Jebel Shams. The journey will take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and road conditions. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Expect to pay around 25-30 OMR for a round trip. The taxi can wait for you while you explore Jabal Akhdar.
Public Transportation
Though public transportation options are limited in this mountainous region, you can take a bus from Nizwa to Saiq, which operates a few times a day. The bus ride takes about 1-2 hours. From Saiq, you will need to hire a taxi to reach Jabal Akhdar, which is approximately 30 minutes away. The taxi fare from Saiq to Jabal Akhdar will be around 10 OMR.
