Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Nizwa, head to the Nizwa Fort. From there, walk south on the main road (27th July Street) towards the Nizwa Souq. Continue walking south past the souq until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route 21. Follow Route 21 for about 45 kilometers until you reach Tanuf. The castle ruins will be located on the outskirts of Tanuf town.

    From the Nizwa Bus Station, take a bus heading towards Bahla. Get off at Bahla Bus Station and transfer to a bus heading towards Tanuf. Ask the bus driver to drop you off near Tanuf Castle Ruins. The journey may take around 2 hours depending on bus schedules.
