Car
If you're driving from Wahiba Sands, start by heading towards the nearest major road. Follow signs to Route 23, which connects you to the coastal town of Tiwi. The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you reach Tiwi, follow the signs to Wadi Shab. You will need to park your car at the designated parking area near the entrance of Wadi Shab. Note that there is a small entrance fee of OMR 1.5 per person. After parking, you will walk to the wadi entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Wadi Shab via public transport, you can take a bus or shared taxi from Sur, which is the nearest town with bus services. First, travel to Sur from Wahiba Sands, which may require a taxi or shared ride. Once in Sur, look for buses or taxis heading towards Tiwi. Inform the driver to drop you off at Wadi Shab. The fare will be around OMR 1-2. Upon arrival, you will need to walk to the entrance of Wadi Shab and pay the entrance fee of OMR 1.5 per person.
Tour Operator
Consider booking a guided tour from your accommodation in Wahiba Sands. Many local tour operators offer packages that include transportation to Wadi Shab. This typically includes pick-up and drop-off at your lodging, entrance fees, and a guided hike in the wadi. Prices vary but expect to pay around OMR 20-30 per person.
