Car
If you're in Baker City, Oregon, start by heading south on Campbell Street towards W 1st Street. Continue onto OR-7 S, which will turn into Main St. After about 10 miles, turn left onto OR-86 E. Follow OR-86 E for approximately 25 miles until you reach the junction with Forest Road 50. Turn left onto Forest Road 50 and continue for around 13 miles until you reach the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness area. Make sure to check road conditions as some areas may require a high clearance vehicle.

Take public transportation from Baker City to John Day, which is the nearest major town. You may need to check local bus schedules, as they can vary. Once in John Day, consider renting a car to reach the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. From John Day, head south on US-395 S for about 15 miles, then take OR-86 E towards the wilderness. Follow the same directions as above from OR-86 E to reach the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness area.
