From downtown Bend, head to the nearest bus stop on Wall Street. Take the Cascade East Transit bus number 4 heading towards the Lava Lands Visitor Center. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Newberry National Volcanic Monument stop. Follow the signs to the visitor center, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in downtown Bend. Start your journey on the Deschutes River Trail, heading south along the river. Continue until you reach the intersection with Highway 97. Turn right onto the highway and follow the bike lane for about 10 miles. You will see signs for Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The total ride will take approximately 1 hour.

Walking
If you are staying at a hotel near downtown Bend, you can walk to the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Start by walking south on Wall Street. Continue straight as Wall Street becomes 3rd Street. Follow 3rd Street until you reach the intersection with Highway 97. Cross to the other side and follow the pedestrian path along the highway for about 3 miles. This walk will take roughly 1.5 hours, so ensure you are prepared with water and comfortable shoes.
