Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading to the nearest major city, which is Bend, Oregon. From Bend, take US-20 W towards Sisters. After approximately 20 miles, turn onto OR-126 W. Continue on OR-126 W for about 30 miles until you reach the junction with Forest Road 15. Turn right onto Forest Road 15 and follow this road for about 10 miles until you reach the Coffin Mountain trailhead. There is a parking area where you can leave your car. Be aware that a parking fee may be required, so bring cash or a credit card.
Public Transportation + Hiking
If you prefer public transportation, take a Greyhound or local bus to Bend, Oregon. From the bus station, you will need to arrange a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Coffin Mountain area, as public transport does not directly service the trailhead. There are designated bike lanes on some sections of the road, but always stay alert for vehicle traffic.
