Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the Eagle Creek Trailhead located off of the Historic Columbia River Highway (Oregon Route 30). From Portland, take I-84 East for about 30 miles, then take exit 41 for Cascade Locks. Follow signs for the Historic Columbia River Highway and continue on this road for approximately 20 miles until you reach the Eagle Creek Trailhead parking area. Note that there is a parking fee, which is typically around $5 per vehicle. From the parking lot, the trailhead is well-marked.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the MAX Light Rail from Portland to the Gateway Transit Center. From there, you can catch a Columbia Gorge Express bus that travels to various destinations in the Columbia River Gorge, including the Eagle Creek Trailhead. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as the frequency may vary. A round-trip fare for the bus is generally around $15. Once you arrive at the Eagle Creek Trailhead, follow the well-marked trail to Punch Bowl Falls.
Hiking
After reaching the Eagle Creek Trailhead, embark on the Eagle Creek Trail. The hike to Punch Bowl Falls is about 1.5 miles one way and is relatively easy with some elevation gain.
