Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Cascade Locks, Oregon. From I-84, take exit 44 toward Cascade Locks. If you are coming from Portland, you'll take I-84 East for about 40 miles. After exiting at Cascade Locks, turn onto Historic Columbia River Hwy. The John B. Yeon State Scenic Corridor will be along this highway, approximately 5 miles from the exit. Look for parking areas along the road where you can stop to enjoy the views and trails.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Columbia Area Transit bus from Hood River or The Dalles to Cascade Locks. Check the bus schedule for arrival times, as service may be limited. Once you arrive in Cascade Locks, you will need to walk to Historic Columbia River Hwy. From there, the John B. Yeon State Scenic Corridor is about a 20-minute walk along the highway. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay alert while walking along the road.

  If you enjoy biking, consider cycling along the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. This scenic route runs through the Columbia River Gorge and provides beautiful views. The trail is accessible from various points in the gorge, including Cascade Locks. Make sure to bring your own bike, as rental options may be limited. The ride to John B. Yeon State Scenic Corridor will take around 30 minutes, depending on your pace.

• Walking

  For those already in Cascade Locks, walking to John B. Yeon State Scenic Corridor is a great option. Start from the town center and head east on Historic Columbia River Hwy. The walk is approximately 2 miles and should take about 40-50 minutes. Enjoy the scenery along the way, as you will be surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Columbia River Gorge.
