Car
If you are starting from Portland, Oregon, take I-84 E towards The Dalles. Merge onto US-26 E toward Mt. Hood. Continue on US-26 E for approximately 35 miles. Take the exit toward OR-35 S and merge onto OR-35 S. After about 9 miles, turn left onto Zigzag Mountain Road, which will lead you towards the Zigzag Mountain trailhead. Please note that parking may require a Northwest Forest Pass, which costs $5 for a day pass or $30 for an annual pass.
Public Transportation
From Portland, you can take the Greyhound bus or another regional bus service to Sandy, Oregon. Once in Sandy, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Zigzag Mountain trailhead. Make sure to check the local transportation schedules ahead of time, as they may vary. The taxi fare from Sandy to the trailhead may cost around $30-$50 depending on the distance and time of day.
Hiking Trails
