Car
If you're traveling by car, head to Interstate 84. From Bend, take US-97 South to I-84 East. Continue on I-84 for about 130 miles until you reach Exit 351 for Huntington. From the exit, turn left onto Old Highway 30. Farewell Bend State Recreation Area will be on your right at 23751 Old Hwy 30, Huntington, OR 97907. Make sure to check for any tolls along I-84, although there are typically no tolls on this route.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Bend to La Grande via Eastern Oregon Transit. You may need to check the schedule in advance, as services can be limited. Once in La Grande, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Farewell Bend State Recreation Area. The taxi ride from La Grande to the park is approximately 50 miles and could cost around $100, so plan accordingly.
