From Prineville, head southwest on US-26 W for about 20 miles until you reach the intersection with OR-97 S. Turn right onto OR-97 S and drive for approximately 30 miles. Take the exit for Bend/US-20 W. After about 5 miles, keep left at the fork to continue on US-20 W. Follow this road for about 10 miles until you reach the Lava Butte Lookout entrance on your left. The lookout is situated at coordinates 43.9179° N, 121.3561° W.
