If you are traveling by car within Crook County, start by heading to Prineville, which is the largest city in the area. From Prineville, take OR-126 E for approximately 20 miles. Then, turn onto US-97 S and continue for about 25 miles. Look for signs directing you to Fort Rock and Derrick Cave. You will need to turn onto a gravel road (Derrick Cave Rd) that leads directly to the cave entrance. Please be aware that this road may require a high-clearance vehicle, especially after rain or snow.

Follow the directions above from Bend: take US-97 S towards Fort Rock, then follow the gravel road to Derrick Cave.
