    If you're driving from Prineville, head east on US-26 E. Continue on US-26 E for approximately 32 miles until you reach the intersection with OR-207 N. Turn left onto OR-207 N and follow the road for about 10 miles. Turn right onto Painted Hills Road, and follow the signs to the Painted Hills Overlook. The overlook is located at Overlook Trail, Mitchell, OR 97750.

    From the town of Mitchell, take the OR-26 W towards the Painted Hills. After about 5 miles, turn left onto Overlook Road, which will lead you directly to the Painted Hills Overlook. There is ample parking available at the site.
