Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to the Thomas Condon Visitor Center from Prineville, head northeast on OR-26 E from the town center. Continue on OR-26 E for about 25 miles until you reach the junction with OR-19. Take the exit for OR-19 N toward Kimberly. Follow OR-19 N for approximately 12 miles, and you will see the Thomas Condon Visitor Center on your left at 32651 OR-19, Kimberly, OR 97848. Be aware that parking is available on-site, and there is no fee for parking.

• Car

  From Madras, take US-97 S toward Bend. After about 20 miles, take the exit for OR-26 E toward Prairie City. Continue on OR-26 E for about 25 miles, then merge onto OR-19 N. Follow OR-19 N for about 12 miles, and the Thomas Condon Visitor Center will be on your left at 32651 OR-19, Kimberly, OR 97848. There is no charge for parking at the visitor center.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to the Thomas Condon Visitor Center. Visitors can use a local shuttle service from Prineville to the nearest bus stop along OR-26. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to call a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance of approximately 12 miles to the visitor center. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance, as services may vary.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from Prineville via the Crooked River Highway (OR-27). This is a scenic route but be prepared for a 25-mile ride to the junction with OR-19, then continue north on OR-19 for about 12 miles. Always wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic along the highway. There are no fees for parking your bike at the visitor center.
