Car
From Bend, Oregon, take Highway 97 northbound. After approximately 20 miles, merge onto Highway 126 west toward Sisters. Continue on Highway 126 for about 15 miles until you reach the turnoff for Tamolitch Falls Trailhead, just past the town of Camp Sherman. Turn left onto NF-14 (also known as the McKenzie River Scenic Byway) and follow the signs to the trailhead parking area. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead, and it is a popular spot, so arrive early to ensure a parking space.
Public Transportation
Take the Cascade East Transit (CET) bus from Bend to Sisters. From Sisters, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Tamolitch Falls Trailhead. Note that public transportation options may be limited, so check the CET schedule in advance. Once at the trailhead, the hike to the falls is approximately 2.25 miles, making it a manageable walk for most visitors.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the Tamolitch Falls Trailhead, prepare for a 2.25-mile hike to the falls. Follow the clearly marked trail through the lush forest. The hike is relatively easy and suitable for families. As you approach the falls, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the waterfall cascading into a picturesque blue-green pool.
