Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Bend, OR, take US-20 E towards Burns. In Burns, turn south onto OR-205 S and follow it for approximately 60 miles until you reach the junction with OR-78 E. Continue on OR-78 E for about 35 miles until you reach the town of Princeton. From Princeton, turn east onto E Steens Rd. The Alvord Hot Springs Bath House & Campground will be located at 36095 E Steens Rd, approximately 17 miles down this road. Be cautious as the road can be winding and may have limited signage.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, you can take a bus from Bend to Burns via Eastern Oregon Transit. From Burns, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Princeton and then E Steens Rd, as public transport does not go directly to Alvord Hot Springs. Ensure to check bus schedules in advance, as they may not run daily.

  If you are arriving at an airport in Eastern Oregon, such as the Redmond Airport, consider renting a car. From the airport, follow US-97 S to US-20 E towards Burns.
