Public Transportation

From downtown Hood River, take the Columbia Area Transit bus route that goes to Cascade Locks. You will want to board the bus heading towards Cascade Locks. Once you arrive at the Cascade Locks stop, you can walk to Historic Columbia River Hwy. Follow the signs towards Ponytail Falls. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop to the trailhead.

If you are coming from Portland, take I-84 E. Follow I-84 E for about 40 miles, then take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. At the roundabout, continue straight onto Historic Columbia River Hwy. Drive for about 10 minutes until you see the signs for Ponytail Falls. There is a designated parking area near the trailhead.
