Getting There

Walking
From the center of Hood River, head east on Oak Street towards the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 1st Street. Turn left onto 1st Street and follow it as it curves onto the Hood River Bridge. Cross the bridge, which may take about 20-30 minutes on foot. Once you reach Stevenson, WA, turn right onto WA-14 E and walk for about 1 mile until you see the signs for the Beacon Rock Trailhead on your left. The trailhead is located at Beacon Rock Trail.

Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Hood River. Start at the intersection of Oak Street and 1st Street and head east towards the Hood River Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, continue straight on WA-14 E for about a mile until you see the entrance for Beacon Rock Trailhead on your left. The bike ride should take about 30 minutes, depending on your speed.

Take the Columbia Gorge Express bus service, which operates from Hood River to various points in the Gorge. Board the bus at the Park & Ride lot located at 1000 E Port Marina Way, Hood River. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time, as the bus may not run frequently. Get off at the Stevenson stop and walk approximately 0.5 miles east on WA-14 E until you arrive at the Beacon Rock Trailhead, which will be on your left.
