Walking
From downtown Hood River, head southeast on Oak St toward 2nd St. Continue straight onto 2nd St, which becomes Cascade Ave. Walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Historic Columbia River Highway. Turn right onto the Historic Columbia River Highway and continue walking for approximately 4 miles. You'll pass several scenic viewpoints along the way. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Starvation Creek Falls, which will be located on your left side.
Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Hood River. Begin your journey by cycling southeast on Oak St toward 2nd St. Continue straight as Oak St becomes Cascade Ave. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Cycle along this route for around 4 miles. The ride will offer beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge. Watch for signs indicating Starvation Creek Falls, which will be on your left. There is a bike path that runs parallel to the highway making it safe for cyclists.
Public Transport (Bus)
Take the Columbia Area Transit bus from the Hood River Transit Center. Board a bus that heads towards Cascade Locks. Inform the driver you would like to stop at the Starvation Creek Falls trailhead. The bus ride will take about 20-30 minutes depending on the schedule. Once you arrive at the bus stop, walk back a short distance along the highway until you see the entrance to the falls. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure you catch the return bus after your visit.
