If you are driving from the town of Jefferson, head north on OR-51 towards US-20. Merge onto US-97 N via the ramp to The Dalles. Continue on US-97 N for approximately 19 miles. The Crooked River High Bridge will be on your left, just past the town of Culver. There is a parking area nearby where you can safely stop and enjoy the views of the bridge.
Car
From Madras, take US-97 S for about 21 miles. As you approach Culver, look for the signs for the Crooked River High Bridge. The bridge is located at 12797 US-97, Culver, OR 97734. There is parking available at the site.
Public Transportation
The nearest public transportation option is the Cascades East Transit, which operates in Jefferson County. You can take the bus to Culver. Once you arrive in Culver, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the Crooked River High Bridge. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited.
Bicycle
For those looking to cycle to the Crooked River High Bridge, there are bike-friendly routes from both Madras and Jefferson. From Jefferson, take OR-51 to US-97 N, and from Madras, take US-97 S. The ride is approximately 19 miles from Jefferson and 21 miles from Madras. Be mindful of traffic, as US-97 can be busy. There are bike racks available at the bridge for parking your bike.
