Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Jefferson County, head towards US-97 S. If you're starting in Madras, take US-97 S for about 30 miles. If you're coming from the direction of Warm Springs, you will also want to head south on US-97. Continue on US-97 S until you reach the exit for OR-197 S towards Maupin. Take this exit and continue on OR-197 S for about 15 miles. Once you approach Maupin, turn left onto White River Rd. Follow this road for approximately 6 miles, and you will see the entrance to White River Falls State Park on your left.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options directly to White River Falls State Park can be limited. You may need to use a combination of the local bus service to reach Maupin, then arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you from Maupin to the park. Check with the local transit authority for bus schedules and routes that service the area. It is advisable to plan your trip in advance, as services may not operate frequently.

• Bicycle

  For those adventurous enough to bike, you can follow the same route as cars. Starting from Madras or Warm Springs, take US-97 S to OR-197 S.   Walking to White River Falls State Park is not practical due to the distances involved. If you are already in Maupin, you can walk to the park from the town, which is about 6 miles. Follow White River Rd directly to the park entrance. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, carry water, and be prepared for the weather conditions.
