Car
If you are driving from Klamath Falls, head north on US-97 for approximately 30 miles. You will pass through the small town of Merrill. After about 30 minutes, take the exit for CA-161 towards Tulelake. Follow CA-161 for about 10 miles until you reach Tulelake. Once in Tulelake, turn left onto Visitor Center Trail and follow the signs for the Lava Beds National Monument. The entrance to Mushpot Cave will be on your right after approximately 1 mile.
Public Transportation
Currently, there is limited public transportation directly to Mushpot Cave. However, you can take a Greyhound bus from Klamath Falls to Tulelake. Once you arrive in Tulelake, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Mushpot Cave, which is about 6 miles away. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as service may be limited.
Biking
For those who enjoy biking, you can cycle from Klamath Falls to Tulelake. Start on US-97 and head north for about 30 miles. After reaching Tulelake, turn onto Visitor Center Trail and continue for approximately 1 mile to reach Mushpot Cave.
