Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Klamath Falls. Take US-97 N from Klamath Falls toward Bend. Continue on US-97 N for approximately 70 miles. As you approach Bend, take the exit for US-20 E toward Madras. After about 15 miles, turn left onto Forest Road 21 (also known as the East Lake Road). Continue on Forest Road 21 for about 10 miles until you reach the Big Obsidian Flow Trailhead and Interpretive Site. There is a parking area available at the trailhead, and it’s free to park.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local transit service from Klamath Falls to Bend. Once in Bend, you will need to arrange for a car rental or a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the Big Obsidian Flow Trailhead.
