Car
If you're traveling by car, the most straightforward route to Newberry Volcano is to take US-97 South from any location in the Cascade Range. Once you reach the town of La Pine, take the exit onto OR-31 South. Continue on OR-31 for approximately 15 miles until you see signs for Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Turn left onto Newberry Crater Road and follow it until you reach the entrance of the park. Note that there may be a parking fee, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus to Bend, Oregon, which is a central hub for transportation in the area. From Bend, you can catch a local shuttle or rideshare service to La Pine. Once in La Pine, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Newberry Volcano, as public transit options may be limited. Expect to pay for the shuttle or taxi service as well as any entrance fees at Newberry National Volcanic Monument.
