If you're starting from the city of Lakeview, head north on US-395 N towards Alturas for about 18 miles until you reach the junction with OR-31 N. Turn left onto OR-31 N and continue for approximately 40 miles. You’ll pass through the scenic areas of the Fremont-Winema National Forest. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Little Lava Lake. Once you reach the junction with the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway (OR-46), turn left. Little Lava Lake will be about 10 miles ahead on your right. There is no entrance fee required to access the lake.
