If you're driving to Hackleman Old Growth Grove, start by getting onto S Santiam Hwy (OR-20) from your location in Linn County. If you're starting from Albany, head southeast on I-5 and take exit 228 for OR-20 toward Corvallis. Follow OR-20 for approximately 18 miles until you reach the town of Foster. Continue on S Santiam Hwy for about 4 miles. The grove will be on your left, marked by signs. There is a small parking area available.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Albany to Sweet Home via Linn-Benton Loop. The bus will drop you off in Sweet Home. From there, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service, as public transportation does not go directly to Hackleman Old Growth Grove. The distance from Sweet Home to the grove is approximately 10 miles, and taxi fares could range from $20-$30, depending on the service.
