Car
If you are driving from the town of Fossil, Oregon, head west on Main Street toward US-97 South. Turn right onto US-97 South and continue for approximately 10 miles. Look for signs directing you to John Day National Monument - Clarno Unit. After about 10 miles, turn left onto Clarno Road (County Road 26). Follow Clarno Road for about 5 miles until you reach the entrance to the Clarno Unit. There is no entry fee for the monument, but parking is available.
