Car
From the Smith Rock State Park entrance, head southeast on Smith Rock Way. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto US-97 S. Continue on US-97 for approximately 8 miles. Look for signs for Crooked River High Bridge, which will be on your right. There is a small parking area available for visitors.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transport, take the Cascades East Transit bus from Bend to Madras. From Madras, you can catch the Crooked River Transit (CRCT) to the nearest stop on US-97. Once you arrive, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles south along US-97 to reach the Crooked River High Bridge. Note that the bus schedule may be limited, so check the times in advance.
Walking from Smith Rock State Park
If you are already in Smith Rock State Park and prefer to walk, head out from the main parking area and follow the well-marked trails leading southeast. You'll be walking along the park’s trails for about 2 miles before intersecting with the US-97. From the intersection, head south on US-97 for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Crooked River High Bridge. Be cautious of traffic while walking along the highway.
