From the main parking area of Smith Rock State Park, head towards the park exit. Follow the signs directing you towards Crooked River Drive (also known as Highway 97). Turn left onto Crooked River Drive and continue for approximately 10 miles. You will pass through the town of Terrebonne. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the Lower Deschutes Day Use Area. Turn left onto Lower Bridge Road and continue for about 5 miles. The Lower Deschutes Day Use Area will be on your right. There is no entrance fee for this area.
