Car
If you are driving, start from the main parking area of Smith Rock State Park. Head southeast on Crooked River Dr and turn left onto Smith Rock Way. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with Highway 126. Take a right onto Highway 126 and drive for about 18 miles. Look for signs for Tamolitch Falls/Blue Pool and turn onto National Forest Road 2672-655. Follow this road until you reach the trailhead parking area. Note that parking may require a fee, so be prepared with cash or a card.

Public transportation options are limited in this area. However, if you are in nearby towns such as Bend or Redmond, you can take a bus to reach the nearest point. From there, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to the Tamolitch Falls trailhead. Once you arrive at the trailhead, the hike to Blue Pool is approximately 2 miles. Be sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time, and be aware that some services may not operate on weekends.

Once you arrive at the trailhead for Tamolitch Falls, you will begin your hike on the Tamolitch Blue Pool Trail. The trail is well-marked and follows the McKenzie River. The hike is about 2 miles one way, and it typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the Blue Pool. The trail is mostly flat, making it suitable for most hikers. Be sure to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear, as sections can be rocky and uneven.
