Car
From any location in Umpqua Valley, head towards Highway 138. If you're near Roseburg, take I-5 North and exit at Highway 138 East. Continue on Highway 138 until you reach the junction with Highway 97. Turn onto Highway 97 South. After a few miles, follow signs for Willamette National Forest and continue onto Forest Road 47. The last stretch involves a gravel road, so be cautious. Follow the signs to Terwilliger Hot Springs, which is about 4 miles from the junction. Look for a small parking area where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation
Currently, there is no direct public transportation to Terwilliger Hot Springs from major locations in Umpqua Valley. However, you can take a Greyhound bus or local shuttle service to Roseburg. From there, arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Terwilliger Hot Springs. Ensure you book the ride in advance as the springs are somewhat remote.
Hiking
If you are adventurous and already at the nearby trailheads, you can hike to Terwilliger Hot Springs. The best access point is from the Terwilliger Trailhead located off Forest Road 47. The hike is approximately 1 mile through a scenic forested area. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water. The trail can be steep and muddy depending on the season.
