Car
From Joseph, Oregon, take OR-82 E towards Enterprise. Continue on OR-82 E for about 12 miles until you reach the junction with OR-3 S. Turn left onto OR-3 S and drive for approximately 22 miles until you reach the town of Imnaha. Once in Imnaha, turn onto NF-490 (immediately after the Imnaha General Store). Follow NF-490 for about 14 miles until you arrive at Hells Canyon Overlook, where you can park and enjoy the stunning views.
Car
From Wallowa Lake, head north on OR-351 N. After about 3 miles, merge onto OR-82 W towards Enterprise. Continue on OR-82 W for about 12 miles, then turn right onto OR-3 S. Follow OR-3 S for approximately 22 miles until reaching Imnaha. In Imnaha, turn onto NF-490 and drive for about 14 miles to find Hells Canyon Overlook.
Public Transportation
Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Hells Canyon Overlook. The nearest public transportation is available through the Wallowa County Transit, which operates routes primarily between Joseph and Enterprise. You would need to take the transit to Enterprise, then hire a taxi or rideshare service to Imnaha, and from there, you would need to have a pre-arranged vehicle or taxi to take you the final 14 miles along NF-490 to Hells Canyon Overlook.
