In Lostine, turn left onto Lostine River Road (also known as County Road 621), and follow this road for approximately 12 miles. You will see signs for the Eagle Cap Wilderness area. Look for trailheads along the way; one of the popular access points is the Wallowa Lake Trailhead, where you can park your car. Please note that parking may require a day-use fee, typically around $5.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Wallowa County Transit, which operates a bus service from Wallowa Lake to Enterprise and Lostine. From there, follow the directions provided for car travel to access the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
Hiking
For adventurous travelers, if you are near the Wallowa Lake Trailhead, you can begin a hiking journey into Eagle Cap Wilderness.
