Car
If you are traveling by car, set your GPS to 60060 Wallowa Lake Hwy, Joseph, OR 97846. From the town of Joseph, drive south on Wallowa Lake Hwy (also known as OR-351) for approximately 7 miles. You will pass scenic views of the Wallowa Valley and the mountains. Look for signs directing you to Wallowa Lake Lodge, which will be on your right as you approach the lake.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, the nearest bus service is provided by the Valley Transit system. You can catch a bus from La Grande to Joseph. Once you arrive in Joseph, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining 7 miles to Wallowa Lake Lodge. Alternatively, check local shuttle services that may operate during peak tourist seasons, which could provide a more direct route.
Bicycle
For adventurous travelers, biking to Wallowa Lake Lodge is an option. From Joseph, you can take Wallowa Lake Hwy directly to the lodge. The route is approximately 7 miles and offers beautiful views along the way. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws. Note that there may be some elevation changes, so be prepared for a moderately challenging ride.
Walking
If you are staying in Joseph and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic hike along the Wallowa Lake Hwy to reach the lodge. The 7-mile walk will take about 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace.
