Getting There

• Car

  If you're already in Willamette Valley, take OR-58 E from your location. Follow OR-58 E for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with the McKenzie River Highway (OR-126). Turn left onto OR-126 W and continue for about 15 miles. Look for signs directing you to Blue River and Willamette National Forest. Once you reach Blue River, follow the signs to the forest entrance, located at Blue River, OR 97413. Note that a parking fee may apply at certain trailheads and areas within the forest.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Willamette National Forest via public transportation, start by taking the Lane Transit District bus from your location in the Willamette Valley to Eugene. From Eugene, you can take a Greyhound or other intercity bus service to the nearest stop near Blue River. Once you arrive in Blue River, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the forest entrance, as public transportation options are limited in the area. Be sure to check bus schedules in advance, as they may vary by day and time.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to Willamette National Forest is an option. If you are in Eugene, you can take the Fern Ridge Path to connect to OR-126. Continue along OR-126 E for about 30 miles. Be cautious as this route includes sections of highway with traffic. Make sure your bicycle is in good condition and carry necessary supplies. The ride is scenic, but it can take several hours, so plan accordingly.
