Walking
From the center of Gilgit, head towards the main bazaar. Walk along the main road until you reach the junction that leads towards Skardu. Continue straight until you reach the bus stand for Skardu. Here, you can take a shared van or jeep heading to Skardu, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Once you arrive in Skardu, you will need to walk to Chumik Road. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Kharphocho Fort. The fort is about a 30-minute walk uphill from Chumik Road.
Public Transport
Take a bus or shared jeep from the Gilgit bus stand to Skardu. The journey will take around 3-4 hours. Upon reaching Skardu, ask for directions to Chumik Road, where Kharphocho Fort is located. You can either walk or hire a local guide to assist you in navigating the route to the fort, which is a 30-minute uphill walk from Chumik Road.
